Construction on new Welcome Center Begins
As many of you know we began the process of replacing the camp office with a new welcome center last year. Because of a generous grant from Thrivent for Lutherans we now have the funds to begin the actual construction.
First workparty is scheduled for July 14th and 15th with several more scheduled between then and completion on Labor Day.
We still need donations of office supplies, display cabinets, information racks, bulletin boards, round table and 4 chairs, as well as old and new camp pictures to put on the walls.
Attention all Thrivent members, here is your chance to win a two night stay in the Meadow View Cabin at Valley Camp, all you have to do is come up with the winning name for the new Welcome Center. Submit your ideas soon, names will be voted on during the Labor Day Work Party to complete the new Welcome Center. Submit soon and often by commenting on this blog post.

Welcome Center Update: Building is framed, plywood is on the roof, doors and windows are installed and metal roofing has been delivered and will be installed as soon. We hope to paint the exterior on Labor Weekend, come on out and see the progress and lend a hand if you can.
The plan is to complete the Welcome Center and have a dedication on Tuesday evening October 19th at 7:00 PM. This event will be here at camp and for those that can come early a tour of camp. A dessert will be served following the dedication.
As of today, we are on track to complete the construction by early October, but we need your help painting and doing finish work on the inside of the building. Come on out and join us whenever you have time, we are always doing something that could use an extra hand.
