Thoughts on Personal Retreats and Sabbaticals

Can you afford not to take time off and away?

Are you nearing the edge of burnout? Do you even recognize the symptoms? Do you find yourself rechurning the same old ideas? Have those you respect around you started saying things like, why don't you take a day off, or, when was your last vacation?

Maybe these are first signs you need to look inside and ask the question, am I stuck where I am because I've not taken time away to reflect and reconnect?

Our lives today seemed to be filled with so much activity that we have lost the ability to slow down, let alone stop for awhile allowing for creative thinking that only takes place during down time or while we are purposefully at rest.

Think about this, plan for it, then let yourself have the time to step out of the race and rest.

Consider this as an example:

Genesis 2:2-3 {God rested from all His work, literally ceased His labor and rested}

Pax Domini
